Flute ( Bansuri ) :
A flute is a musical instrument that is made mainly from bamboo or metals. Sound is produced when air is streamed into it from the sharp-edged corner.


From bansuri to Murli, In India flute is known by other many names. Bansuri is known as a divine instrument of Lord Krishna which he used in Raas Leela.
History :
The flute is very simple and easy to play a musical instrument that has been found in many past cultures. The birthplaces if the flute is India, Egypt, and Greece. The flute is found in these countries for the very first time. A very interesting thing that transverse flute is only seen in India, while the longitudinal flute is seen in both three of them.


Different designs of flutes are seen in different parts of the country. It is believed that playing the flute is very good for our health and its importance is written in the Natya Shastra also.
Mystical Notes :
The flute is a device with 5- 6 holes. These holes help to produce seven basic Svara that are :
Sa, Ri Ga, Ma, Pa, Dha, Ni Sa


When all holes are closed, the bass scale that is the Pa of the flute is produced. with one hole at the end of the flute open, the instrument plays the Dha. Similarly, Ni is produced with two end holes open, Sa with three farthest open, Ri with four, Ga with five, and Ma is produced with all holes open.
Krishna The Flutist :
Lord Krishna is the cosmic flutist and the tune he creates by playing his mesmerizing flute is embellished with his divine energy. When he plays the fluted nature become alive, rivers and lakes get overflowed with water, peacock starts to dance, birds start to sing.


Krishna is seen everywhere holding the flute in his lotus hands. One must understand the tunes of the flute of Krishna to understand his powers. By flute, he brings out the song from his heart.
