Factors Determining The Quality Of Pictures During 4D Ultrasound
i) Who is scanning?
ii) Timing
iii) Be Hydrated
iv) Wear loose clothing
These are some of the factors that you should consider before going for your 4D ultrasound.
i) Who is scanning?
Regardless of what you believe, the quality of 4D ultrasound does depend on the person who is doing it. If the person handling your 4D Ultrasound is not medically trained, you are not going to get satisfactory results. So, make sure that you choose an experienced OB/GYM to handle your ultrasound for reliable imaging. A person handling your ultrasound must be RDMS certified.
ii) Timing
The next most important thing to factor in is to know when to get the ultrasound done. Usually, the gender of the baby is determined in 16 weeks of time, it is when most moms go for an ultrasound. We highly recommend that you go for an ultrasound after the 16 weeks of your pregnancy to get better and accurate imaging. In addition to that, you can also go for an ultrasound between 24-26 weeks of pregnancy as that is when the facial features become more defined. Between 33-37 weeks of pregnancy you get the full picture of your baby and therefore, it is counted among the best time for getting an ultrasound done.
iii) Be Hydrated
Before coming for an ultrasound, the mother needs to be fully hydrated. It is always advised that a mother should drink plenty of water in the days leading up to ultrasound. This will increase the quality of the pictures and will provide a clear view of the baby.
iv) Wear loose clothing
While coming for an ultrasound make sure that you are comfortably dressed. Since you will have your pants slightly below your hips, it is advisable that you wear loose clothing. The entire process takes 15-20 minutes, this is another reason why we recommend that you are comfortably dressed.
